WILEY
Race Against Time
Label: Eskibeat
Wiley’s back again with his fifth studio album “Race Against Time”. With albums like “Treddin On Thin Ice” and “Grime Wave” under his belt Wiley had a lot to live up to and to me he delivers.
Back with his distinctive voice and flows Wiley goes back to basics on tracks like “Hummer Activity” and “Off The Radar” where he flows for the full track with no pauses for choruses.
Other strong tracks include “Eyes Of The Lord” the album title track “Race Against Time”, “Zip It Up” and of course most peoples favourite the Bless Beat produced “Where’s My Brother”. Track to avoid “The Olly” still can’t bring myself to listen to that all the way through the least said the better. Features from grime stars Ghetto and Kano, U.K hip-hop man of the moment Giggs and jungle legend Trigga covers the genres well and help raise the level of the album.
If you like Wiley’s previous work like me you’ll enjoy this album and be glad his gone back to grime. “Race Against Time” not a classic but doesn’t do the Wiley name any harm.
Album out now in all good record shops.
